Memories of My Wedding Day

Today while I was cleaning out some things I ran across the CD Aaron and I played at our wedding and reception. It's just a mixed CD of songs we put together. I popped it into the CD player in the kitchen and listened to it as I cleaned.

I honestly couldn't remember what was on it besides "our song" that was actually played during the ceremony. As I listened to the songs play I was surprised by how emotional I got remembering back to Our Wedding Day. I thought then that our love was the strongest and fullest it would ever be. After all, doesn't everyone have to "make it work" after so many years together? Is anyone truly still "in love" when they are old and grey?

In just 2 short months we will be celebrating our seven year anniversary and I can't believe how much things have changed. How sweet and blessed our life is together. How much our love has changed and grown. I don't get butterflies every time I see him, but the excitement when he comes home to us after being away all day at work is still there and pure happiness to have him home.

The children that have came has strengthened our bond too. We have shared so many special moments with the birth of each child, rainy family days spent on the couch, sunny days outside in the yard, bedtime with prayers and books, and they go on. But God is definitely the center of our family and the glue that holds us together. I am so thankful for the life God has blessed us with, the husband he prepared for me, and to be able STILL, after 8 1/2 years together, see the way he looks at me.

Praying that God keeps our marriage tightly in his hands for many, many, many years to come so that we can never fall apart. On our wedding day I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man, but now I can actually visualize our lives as the parents we are, the servants we are striving to become so the Lord can use us, the grandparents we hope to be spending time with family, cooking meals, enjoying Sundays for the rest of our lives and growing old together. Thank you Aaron for being the man I needed.....I love you dearly.
